Arno’s sculpture was created through a complex process involving various media elements and meticulous planning. The silicone heart began with a clay sculpture, which was used to create a plaster mold for casting. Plaster molds were made from the artist’s hands, feet, and other body parts to produce additional casts. At the factory, these molds were transformed into aluminum, which the artist then sanded for refinement. For the body structure, a cardboard template was crafted, followed by a full-scale drawing that guided the cutting of sheet metal using a CNC machine. The trunk and limbs were constructed by bending, welding, and wiring the metal, with aluminum components added later. Epoxy resin casts were created for the chest and legs, while the wings were made from a combination of feathers, mesh wire, and colored silicone sheets. This photo album documents the various stages of the sculpture’s creation.
