Project “A Pulsating Universe”

year: 2023/24

The project “A Pulsating Universe” is a natural progression from the “La-La Land” project and emphasizes the fusion of art and science. The artist’s fascination with physics, quantum physics, bioinformatics, and astronomy is evident in these works. Notably, the painting “Bubbles Floating in Liquid Crystals” seemed to predict some of the latest scientific discoveries, supporting Marshall McLuhan’s idea that artists, with their holistic worldview, can anticipate many discoveries. Through these works, the artist explores the interaction between living and non-living elements, as well as the intersection of speculative, artificial, and biological concepts, creating a rich tapestry of forms and colors.

The project “A Pulsating Universe” serves as an introduction to the artist’s long-standing research on the transformation of brain electromagnetic waves. The artist plans to utilize a WI-Fi EEG device to study brain waves during sleep and convert them into images using Fourier transformations. This approach is influenced by the Holographic Universe theory, which suggests that the brain operates based on Fourier wave transformations. According to this theory, the visual cortex receives external stimuli as waves rather than images, and Fourier transforms can convert these waves into images and vice versa.
